Share Your Cup Thursday #47

Oh my friends, it is a beautiful sunshiny day.  Perfect for Share Your Cup.  Nothing brings me more joy and happiness than a day full of sunshine!

Looking forward to see what has filled your cup (made you happy) this week.

Just an update.  Our basement walls have now been textured and the trim work and painting will begin soon.  Can hardly wait to start decorating.

Thanks everyone for hopping over and sharing each week!

Here are the features from SYC #46

I am loving the prairie looking barn doors that are all over the web.  So much so that I am having them installed in my craft room.  Look at these beauties made by Laurie and her husband from Heavens Walk

Sumaya from Evocative Vintage took an old blanket box and turned it into this vintage beauty.  She comes to us all the way from S. Africa.  Isn’t it wonderful that people from everywhere can share and connect?

Sarah from Hyacinths for the Soul had a few friends over for a Valentines casual dinner.  I’m sure these gorgeous dishes made them feel like a queen!  Go see the rest of her table.

I know that I just recently featured Elizabeth from Home is Where the Heart is.  But oh my gosh you have to see this bed made by her hubby and daughters boyfriend.  Are you through drooling yet?

I am loving the farmhouse style.  Kate from Salvage Dior and her hubby gave an old warped table a new top using pallets.  A perfect farm house look.

Faux Vs. Snow!

Oh my friends, there’s a battle going on here at my house and at times it can get ugly.

What fight is that you ask?  The battle of Faux vs. Snow.

According to our calendar Spring is just around the corner.  But somehow Old Man Winter didn’t get the memo.

IMG_0108

It has been snowing all day again today.  Not heavy, but still snow!

IMG_0104

I decided that if I couldn’t have blooms outside that I would bring the faux in.  Spring blossoms in an old cemetery basket I painted Old White.  Speaking of cemetery, the faux flowers now days are so much better than they were back in the day of the plastic fake flowers.

IMG_0105

I mean really if I had just posted these flowers and not told you that they were faux I think I could pass them off as being real spring blossoms.

Branches picked straight from my Cherry tree and Forsythia.

IMG_0106

And aren’t my Ranunculus and Hydrangeas gorgeous?

IMG_0113

More beautiful white blossoms.  They smell just heavenly. Hee-hee!

IMG_0112

Where are all of these beauties?  Sitting on my fireplace hearth where I can get a whiff every time I walk by.

IMG_0110

As vicious as this fight is, I am not throwing in the towel.  Even if Old Man Winter fights dirty every now and then.

IMG_0114

I mean look at this.  He snuck inside and dusted my faux tulips with a bit of that white stuff.  Sure it’s pretty and all. . .but enough is enough!

IMG_0115

Try as he might.  I think if we all band together he doesn’t stand a chance.  Like it or not, he’ll have to step down and let Spring time take the stage!

I’m not sure who you are routing for, but for me it’s FAUX!

At least until the real flowers arrive.

More My Taste. . .

Yesterday I shared a home from the St. George Home Show that was decorated all in Industrial style.  Although it’s fun to look at, it’s not me.  I do like some items, but over all it doesn’t have that cozy feel that I adore.

Tonight I thought I’d share what is more my taste. . .

Love this white kitchen with the pops of mustard and black.

I would be more than happy to plop down on this fun couch full of pillows.  This girl loves her pillows!

IMG_0085

IMG_0089

Wall art using old windows and balusters. . .so fun!

IMG_0088

Here’s a better shot of the chairs.  Aren’t they SA-weet!

IMG_0086

Of course I liked this chest.  It’s red and has cubbies.  What’s not to like?

IMG_0087

What do you think of this burlap beauty?

IMG_0075

IMG_0076

I love these old theater seats!

IMG_0090

IMG_0025

Doesn’t this tongue and groove look great on the tub?  Wondering if we could do this in our basement. This shower curtain is so cute.  I want to make a similar one.

IMG_0026

This cabinet was in a bathroom, awesome storage!

IMG_0017

Still loving robin’s egg blue.

IMG_0032

Did you see anything you liked?  Now I thought we’d step outside one of the homes.

How’s this for outdoor sleeping?

Industrial is ‘IN’!

Hello my friends, hubby and I have just arrived home from a weekend get away.

Every February we head South to the St. George Home Shows. It’s our ‘Valentines’ get away.  We started doing this four years ago instead of giving each other gifts.  It’s always a nice break and the warmer weather is a welcome change!

Because I have been off galavanting I have missed out on visiting.  I will be by to say ‘hi’.

I already knew that the industrial look was ‘in’.  In fact, I recently purchased a table on wheels, (red wheels, I might add) to use somewhere in my basement.   Yup, not sure yet.  Do you ever do that?  Buy something because you love it even though you’re not sure where you will use it.  Please, please say ‘yes’!

One home was a hefty price of $2, 699.500.  Hubby and I thought about buying it, but held back. lol!

They titled it ‘Vintage Industrial’.  Although I don’t like all industrial, some pieces really do appeal to me.  I found this home to be so much fun.  There were plenty of other homes that had thrown in industrial looking pieces here and there.  Hope you enjoy these pics I snapped.

IMG_0052

All of the lighting in this home was so unique.  This crazy fan was in their casita.  Loved it and also these sconces.  Notice cart #1.  Lots of homes had them.

IMG_0051

I also love these sliding barn doors that are so popular now.  I am so excited to get one in my craft room!  Guess what color?  Um, that would be mustard.

IMG_0053

This is not a great picture, but I had to show you.  The entire back of the great room and den was windows with a killer view.

IMG_0055

More industrial lighting.

IMG_0058

These had giant insulators for shades.

IMG_0057

IMG_0059

IMG_0060

How cool is this clock?

IMG_0056

They even added an industrial look to the bed.

IMG_0064

IMG_0065

More lighting and I love the recycled wood ceiling.

IMG_0066

IMG_0067

IMG_0068

I thought this coat rack made from C clamps was a clever idea.

IMG_0069

This is cart #2 in the same home.

IMG_0062

Now I’m going to show you some other carts I snapped.  See if you have a favorite.

#5.  This one wasn’t on wheels but still similar look.

IMG_0092

There were a lot more, but I only took pics of the most unusual.

Do you like the industrial look?  The younger generation seem to be crazy about it.  I like some of it when it has a vintage style.

Jann
