In My Easter Basket. . .

As a young girl I could hardly wait the anticipation of Easter Morning.

It was always so exciting to see what I would find in my Easter Basket.

At our house the Easter bunny was always so generous.  Not only did I find all kinds of goodies, but it also contained toys and fun activities.

I could always count on there being Silly Putty, coloring book and crayons, perhaps a slinky, Jacks, or some other toy, and a new story book.

The other day I was thinking, “As an adult  what would I like to find in my Easter Basket?”

First of all, it would need to have a few of these, flowers of course.  I love the Spring colors of Anemones.

Daffodils would be nice!

Maybe even some miniature ones.

Some new gardening tools and pretty gloves would bring a smile to my face.

I would love a vintage item.

How about a bit of colorful Spring fabric?

Oh, this next item is a must!  A cute fuzzy chick.

I spied this one in a shop window years ago while vacationing in Salzburg.  Immediately I knew I had to bring it home with me.  It brought back a flood of fond memories.

You see, I forgot to mention that ALWAYS in my Easter basket there were little  fuzzy chicks.  Not real ones, but tiny ones that we loved to carry around in the palm of our hands.

Last of all I would like a treat.  I am not a lover of chocolate, but now and then I get a hanker’n for a Cadbury egg.  Now they even have caramel ones.  This girl loves her caramel!

I have such wonderful memories of Easter childhoods.  Often we went out West for a picnic and an egg hunt.  Mother always had a new Easter outfit for us.  I remember as a new mom starting some of the same traditions with my own children.

What ever you do to celebrate Easter, don’t forget to remember what it truly is all about.  The resurrection of our beloved Savior.

It’s such a perfect time of year with the renewal of the earth and the birth of many new animals.

It’s no wonder that it’s my favorite season!

Here’s hopin you get what you want “In Your Easter Basket!”

If you haven’t linked up with my “Share Your Cup Thursday” link party I would love you too!  Just scroll down to the previous post.

Happy Easter Jann -- You've got me thinking -- I mean if you can get an easter basket, so can I, so I've decided to start gathering my thoughts on the matter. There is still time. Blessings Terri http://morningdewdrops.com

Happy Easter! What a nice post. You had me thinking about my childhood Easter basket...I used to get those fuzzy chicks, too! Glad you like the carmel egss-they are good. I've got one stashed away for later tonight (I love chocolate)! I've been thinking about Easter baskets, too.
I just posted on the baskets I used to make with my father.

Finding anything in my Easter Basket was fun, usually just one medium sized chocolate bunny.
Have a wonderful Easter!

I like your Easter basket choices. Mine would be similar with a lot more emphasis on the chocolate! I remember silly putty! I don't think we got Easter presents but I do remember the candy filling our baskets.
